5 THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND BEFORE LEAVING HOME

With the purpose of minimizing unfortunate incidents when the residents are not at home, Venus Corp. would like to prompt 5 things for you before leaving home.

1.   Ensure electrical safety

Make sure that household electrical appliances such as televisions, washing machines, air conditioner... in the living room, bedroom and toilet are all ceased before leaving home. There were lots of cases where the owner went out and still left the electric appliances running, which lead to electric shocks when rainstorms or lightning ... causing unintended fires explosion.

2.     Check the gas equipment

Gas leakage is another serious incident. To ensure that your apartment is secure, please lock your gas stove and gas supply valve before leaving home. Be cautious if you detect gas odor when returning. In this case, it is better to not use any electrical equipment. Instead, you can gently open the window to make your apartment more airy.

 

3. Check the locking system

Some high-class apartments are using magnetic lock system. Thus, homeowners should check and replace batteries for this system regularly if you do not want to get in trouble with the lock when returning. Especially, from long vacations. If your apartment has a bell system, please turn it off either. Intruders can use the camera bell system to know if no one is home to break-in.

4.     Check the computer system

It is important to deactivate computer and modem power sources because unstable sources can lead to electrical damages.

5.    Lock the washing machine’s water supply

The pressure of the washing machine’s water supply is very strong. In fact, there were flooding coincidences during the owners' absence due to its pressure. To prevent the break of the water supply valve and the contact of it with nearby washer outlet, please lock the washing machine's water supply when you leave home.
